Proud to be Poor Under the Filipino First Policy

Image
Here's an AI art I found on Facebook. The illustration above shows some entrepreneurs eating. Meanwhile, there's a poor family that's proudly dressed in rags. There are proud people and humble people in all types of social classes . If you can have an ugly vain person, then you can have a proud poor person. The poor family displays their arrogance by holding their heads up high, in pride, in a place they couldn't afford . In fact, you may even discover some people are poor, not because they're poor, but because of their pride. Some people either become poor or stay poor in spending stuff that they don't really need, to impress people they don't even like!  The picture that I showed above the first paragraph may represent the Philippines (but also Venezuela, Cuba, and North Korea) vs. the developed countries. The poor family members have no regard that they're bringing in their dirt into a fancy restaurant. The restaurant doesn't need to be first clas...

It's ABSURD to Say That Delays in VP Sara's Impeachment Trial will "Turn Off FDI"

Image
I would say it as it is that this impeachment process is potentially a waste of time. That's why I've been an advocate for the Philippines to go for the parliamentary form of government. If we were in a parliamentary system, Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio would've been subjected to a vote of no confidence . In short, if Sara loses, she loses  and she would need to step down.  Moving on, I recently read that the Makati Business Club said delaying Sara's impeachment trial, could turn off political investors . Some time ago, someone even said that nobody would want to invest in the Philippines, because of a political dynasty. Please, don't tell me that the late former president Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" C. Aquino wasn't part of a political dynasty! We blame everything except the nonsense 60-40 restrictions! We blame it solely on government corruption, never mind that the 60-40 policy is also something loved by corrupt politicians !  The Makati Business ...

Subsidize Irresponsibility Among Filipinos, Create an IRRESPONSIBLE Philippines

Image
Back in 2022, I wrote an essay describing the obsession with ayuda . It's crazy how the Makabayan bloc composed of groups like Bayan Muna, Gabriela, and Kabataan Partylist, are obsessed with ayuda . It's utterly hypocritical to complain about spending PHP 10,000.00 (or more) to amend the constitution from its defects. However, they have no problem giving PHP 10,000.00 ayuda (proposed) to lazy people who do nothing all day. It's one thing to give people with disability (PWDs) their ayuda. It's another thing to give ayuda for people who are  still capable of working. 4Ps is supposed to be a conditional cash transfer program . People are supposed to do what's required, or they don't get the cash to be given. Anybody wasting their money are to be removed from the program.  The problem with several anti-reform people (such as those who belong to the Makabayan bloc) is they may have a beggar mentality . They would demand for wage increase (never mind that wage increas...

The Law of Supply and Demand Isn't a Conspiracy, It's a F-A-C-T of Life

Image
This was a meme I found on Twitter or Facebook some time ago. It's annoying when Communist hippies argue things like: Profits are just unpaid wages. The value of labor is determined solely by labor.  Poor people exist because rich people exist. Supply and demand are just excuses, not valid reasons, to raise prices. It's laughable how commie hippies would make fun of supply and demand. However, no amount of insults will change the laws of supply and demand (read here ). Insults may succeed in starting a fistfight (which could have been avoided by walking away), but the perpetrator can play the victim all they want; however, the laws of business and economics remain  the same . Whether commie hippies want to admit it or not, Vladimir Lenin actually understood supply and demand. Lenin instituted the New Economic Policy . In fact, these are the five key points of Lenin's policy, despite the fact he was also a dictator: Five key points  1. The New Economic Policy, or NEP, was ...

Students May Be Rebelling Because They Barely Get Any Real Rest During Their School Year

Image
Here's a quote I found on Facebook. As I look at the Philippine academic calendar plans to resume back to June (but some private schools aren't following it), I think about why I hated school before. A few years ago, I could recall writing about the Boomer Generation's sleep-deprived stressful education  and how the Philippine education system may be automating students . This reminds me that a few years back, my high school classmate who plays the concerned citizen, actually still plays it. Again, to respect his privacy, I'm not going to put out the screenshot. The post talked about the problem of grades over learning education (read my essay  here ). As I look back, I may be wrong to blame the teacher . Instead, teachers may have been required to give homework over the weekends (read here ). Teachers are required to follow rules, putting more of the blame on the education system . It's no wonder that some teachers quit teaching . It's because when students get...

Try Convincing Me 60-40 Isn't a Problem Because I'm STILL NOT CONVINCED

Image
I saw this post shared on Facebook. Fortunately, the person's name has been cropped out,  so I don't have to censor it using MS Paint or Affinity Photo. I would like to address why 60-40 is a huge issue. I don't like relying on ChatGPT or any AI for the answers. I would only use AI to help me find the source. Now, I would like to do some common-sense refute with this. Of course, I'm expecting more people to still be 60-40 apologists. I'm going to present my argument. First and foremost, whoever this person is (and it's best that I censor his/her name out) has no idea about different types of FDI restrictions We're already in the Internet age or the digital age . Should we only rely on gossip from a limited group instead of searching for other sources? Are we still stuck with the favorite sources such as the 1987 Constitution framers, faulty DepEd textbooks, biopics, etc.? The person, whoever he/she is, has no idea about the different restrictions in the coun...

Real Talk: Impossibility of PH Government Subsidy for Electricity, is Based on ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES

Image
I was planning to write sparingly, as sparingly as possible. More is less in blogging, right? However, I decided to write about this because I'm reading several Facebook comments on the Philippine Star Facebook page . Isn't it amazing how the education system of the Philippines is so bad? I've heard DepEd textbooks have never improved  until today. Filipino First Policy still good? People still insist that equity restrictions embedded within the "holy and infallible" 1987 Constitution of the Philippines, are for security reasons (read here )? It's just plain stupid if you ask me!  This is an excerpt from the same article on the Philippine Star : MANILA, Philippines — Unlike Thailand, Malaysia and other regional peers, the Philippines lacks the fiscal capacity to provide government subsidies to shield Filipinos from rising electricity costs . “It’s not possible. The subsidy comes from the Universal Charge for Missionary Electrification (UCME),” Energy Undersecr...
